Tryed a sample of this one this afternoon and your notes make me wonder if the man who made my sample didn’t made a mistake.
My sample was incredibly fruity(mouth and especially finale), really incredibly fruity.

i have not tasted batch 01.
but i do prefer the QC.
i need to try that one too.
as i LOVE smoke (and Jeff can attest to that) i think it would be right my alley.

have u tasted the Triplewood?

I added some water but it didn’t change much. Maybe not enough then. I’ll remember to add more water the next time I taste it (although I tend to evaluate whisky on what is in the bottle, not what you can make of it when you’re lucky to add the right amount of water, Coca-Cola or whatever).

Yeah, like Jeff said. Water will free the fruity taste and sweetness, with the tar taste reduced.

Wow, Ruben. Once again, you’ve nailed it! You’re describing pretty much exactly what I’m experiencing with this expression (minus the rubber). I also feel like the wood makes itself known on the nose, and that seems to be winning points for me right now (a la QC).

Did you try with some water? It brings out more sweetness and calms down the tar. When in the mood for Laph CS, though, I’m generally looking for the “neat” experience.
