Carn Mor collection

Posted by: Ruben In: * News

Carn Mor collectionA couple of weeks ago, The Scottish Liqueur Centre launched Càrn Mòr, a series of 24 different vintages, one for each year between 1983 and 2006. They’re all from a different distillery and bottled in 20cl bottles.

I like the idea of smaller bottles, because I’m more of a taster than a drinker and most of my open bottles take months or years to finish. The complete collection costs around € 450 with single bottles between € 10 – 30.

I’ll be reviewing some of the expressions really soon:

  • Glentauchers 2006 (ex-bourbon)
  • Tobermory 1994 (ex-sherry)
  • Tomatin 1987 (ex-bourbon)

  • WhiskyNotes: Thanks Sjoerd. Not that I'm not interested, but it's Glenflagler mixed with other malts so I'm afraid it's not an option to tick it off my list. Thank
  • Sjoerd de Haan-Kramer: I might have a sample from the Glenflagler Pure Malt left. Mind, it is not the single malt (since that is about 17 times more expensive). You interest
  • WhiskyNotes: Thanks for your reply Selim. IMHO you don't pour a 1977 whisky into a Sauternes cask unless something was wrong with it already. So I'm not surprised

Coming up

  • Bowmore 1996 (TWA Faces)
  • Braeval 1994 (Liquid Library)
  • Laphroaig 2000 (Perfect Dram)
  • Glen Moray 1995 (Carn Mor)
  • Longrow Rundlets & Kinderkins
  • Glenfarclas Chairman's reserve 175
  • Balvenie Tun 1858 (batch 1)
