GlenDronach cask in a van

Tasting notes by Ruben Luyten - Posted in * News

GlenDronach cask in a van Last year, GlenDronach malt whisky selected a single cask and took it round Belgium in the back of a van! The Cask in a van tour proved so successful that they’re repeating it this year.

The current offering is a young GlenDronach 2002 vintage, which has been matured in a Bourbon barrel. I’m not sure if it’s going to prove as popular as the widely praised sherry casks… but let’s wait and see.

Want to fill your own bottle by hand, straight from the cask? Here’s the schedule:

Wat gaan ze op het label vermelden?
Volgens de nieuwe Schotse rules , moet het in Schotland gebotteld zijn om Real Schotse whisky te mogen vermelden, zoals op de vorige editie?

Until the end of 2012, there’s still a transition period so they don’t have to change the label yet. And even after 2012, it’s easy to overcome. If you can’t name it “Single Malt Scotch Whisky”, just name it “Single Malt Whisky – distilled in Scotland, bottled in Belgium”. This is not going to keep anyone from buying it.

De Bourbon 2002 Cask In a Van is goed. Heb er 2 gekocht. Maar de Sherry’s zijn much better.
Je mist wat Glendronach net zo speciaal maakt.
