Whisky Round Table

Tasting notes by Ruben Luyten - Posted in * News

There’s a new edition of the monthly Whisky Round Table. Head over to Keith’s Whisky Emporium for our answers to this question:

I know that officially the ageing or maturation of whisky is defined as the time spent in oak casks, but apart from that, do you believe in any form of ‘bottle ageing’ being accountable for changes in the flavour of whisky over a period of years whilst still in the bottle?

  • Chris: Based on price and transparency alone I'd pick this over the shoddy HP Dark Origins any day. Benromach continues to win me over. While I may not drink
  • Roberto Sikora: Benromach seem to do great things these days. Thumbs up for an uncommon age statement!
  • Fredrik: I recently made a promise not to buy or try NAS whisky anymore. It will sadly go unnoticed but that´s how I feel about this.

Coming up

  • Mortlach 18 Year Old
  • Michters 10 Year Old
  • Glendronach 1995 #4408 (for TWA)
  • Glenlossie 1992 (Whisky Mercenary)
  • Mackmyra Midnattssol
