Ten days of… cheap whisky

Posted by: Ruben Luyten In: * News

Not the best choice if you're looking for cheap whiskyThe holiday season has arrived, everyone is trying to save some money in order to go on vacation. The financial crisis isn’t helping us either…

This is the time to look at some cheaper whisky (make that “more accessible” whisky), available for € 50 or less. I know there are good bottles to be found in this market segment.

It will be quite a random anti-crisis selection, we’ll have newly released Scotch single malts (both official bottlings and independent releases) but also Spanish and American whisky and a single grain. There’s even an uncommon brand of Japanese whisky that we haven’t tried before.

I would call it rather affordable whisky ))
Looking forward to Spanish one, I guess this is gonna be “DYC”.

In the case of DYC, cheap is the perfect word ;-)
You can buy a whole case for € 50…

  • WhiskyNotes: It says 'single cask Scotch whisky' on the label, so yes, technically it can even contain a bit of Girvan grain. Not that it matters a lot though.
  • kallaskander: Hi there, could be a teaspooned blenders cask... technically not a single malt then.... that seems more probable than letting an IB bring out the fir
  • Glenn Vanbellingen: If you put the 12 y origin at 40% head to head with the 12 y origin 46% you see it immediately or better you taste it immediately.

Coming up

  • Ardbeg 1972 (Douglas Laing OMC)
