Glenlivet 2002 - G&M Connoisseurs ChoiceGlenlivet 15 yo 2002 (58,4%, Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice 2018, first-fill bourbon #800772, 200 btl.)

Nose: fresh, clean, neutral, revolving around shy fruits (pears, grapefruits) and blossoms, a little icing, light chalky notes. Also green leafy notes and grass. Light vanilla custard. Okay, but not much happening here.

Mouth: again this rather straightforward bourbon oak effect, if I may call it like that. White fruits (moving towards pineapple after a while), vanilla, ginger, green tea and typical zesty grapefruit. White pepper.

Finish: medium, with the zesty and woody side growing stronger.

Well designed Glenlivet, with a pleasant character and a good amount of wood influence. That said, there’s nothing to get us really excited. I believe this was only distributed in Asia and Australia.

Score: 81/100
