Nose: very neutral and slightly spirity (aquavit). Porridge and stale beer. Bread. A little wood dust and peppery notes as well. It does get brighter and more fruity after a while (toffee apples and peaches) but always with this fruit eau-de-vie character.

Mouth: very sweet, with more fruity notes now. Peaches, yellow apples, sweet oranges. A little vanilla custard. Turns back towards barley and grains with allspice. Darker hints of bread crust again. Then back to citrusy notes. Quite some sawdust as well.

Finish: medium long, with the vanilla / fruit sweetness and spicy notes staying strong.

I’m not a huge fan of this one, I’m afraid. We’ve had very good Inchmurrin bottlings lately but this reminds me of the old bottlings again. Opens up if you give it time, but I prefer the standard Inchmurrin 12 for instance. Around € 65 is a fair price for a single cask though. Should be on the shelves today.
