Springbank Local Barley 9 Years (2018)
The 2018 edition of Springbank Local Barley is taking the trend of downward age further. The upcoming release is 9 Years Old, produced with Optic barley from the High Cattadale Farm and will be bottled at 57.7% ABV. This year 9700 bottles will be available.
Highland Park 16 Years Twisted Tattoo
This 16 year old Highland Park Twisted Tattoo showed up in the TTB database. It is bottled at 46.7% ABV, which probably indicates that it’s different from the Highland Park 16 ‘Wings of the Eagle’. The tasting notes on the back label mention the usual sweet vanilla, peaches and light peat smoke, but also “full-bodied red wine”.
GlenAllachie single casks for USA
Three single casks from GlenAllachie distillery popped up:
- GlenAllachie 12 yo 2006 (61.6%, bourbon barrel #27981)
- GlenAllachie 29 yo 1989 (55.1%, sherry butt #2510)
- GlenAllachie 29 yo 1989 (56.9%, sherry butt #100051)
These are all exclusive to the US, but I’m sure we also get a series of single casks in Europe soon.
