We’ve had several impressive Glenlivet 2007 bottlings, all from the Signatory Vintage stocks. One of them was bottled for the 20th Anniversary of The Whisky Exchange. This sister cask is also a TWE exclusive.
Glenlivet 12 yo 2007 (66,3%, Signatory Vintage for The Whisky Exchange, first-fill sherry hogshead #900171, 309 btl.)
Nose: stewed fruits and aromatic wood. There’s rum & raisins, Cherry Heering and baked bananas as well as sandalwood and hints of cigar boxes. Cinnamon, mint, hints of eucalyptus. Walnuts. After a while it starts to show more fruits, with prunes and berries.
Mouth: very rich, with dark fruits and spices. Blackberries and prunes, with added minty notes, herbal tea and hints of Mexican chocolate. Walnuts again, as well as coffee and liquorice. Spicy oak.
Finish: long, spicy, with leathery notes, dried fruits and cherry liqueur.
Quite a massive sherry bomb again. Expect dark fruits, spicy oak and a whole array of intense flavours. Recommended if you’re into heavy sherry – this won’t last long. Only available from The Whisky Exchange.
