Laphroaig is working on a Laphroaig 30 Year Old at cask strength. The spirit was distilled in October 1985, was double matured in ex-bourbon barrels (twice) and bottled in May 2016. The label says it’s bottled at 53,5% vol. It will be available September 2016.

At the same time a label for the Laphroaig 25 Year Old was seen, probably just a new batch, also bottled at a higher strength (48,6%). Matured in Oloroso sherry casks and American oak barrels.

Bowmore on the other hand will soon release a Bowmore Vault Edition. Actually it is spelled Vault Edit1°n, referring to the famous Vaults n°1 and their alchemy of the nearby sea. It is the first in a four-part series of small-batch releases highlighting key flavour characteristics of the distillery, which will appear on a yearly basis until 2019. The first bottling is nicknamed Atlantic sea salt. It is bottled at cask strength: 51,5% ABV and will retail for around € 120.

From The Dalmore comes a Dalmore 35 Year Old, apparently a new addition to the core range. Bottled at 40% vol. which is quite sad for such a whisky.
