New: Macallan Edition No.4 // Rosebank 21 Years ‘Innocence’

Rosebank 21 Years - The Roses - Innocence

Rosebank Roses ‘Innocence’

The Rosebank Roses are a range of seven bottlings from the lost Lowland distillery, bottled by Elixir Distillers (from the Whisky Exchange group). They are composed from a batch of 15 casks, some of the last available.

Rosebank was mothballed in 1993 and the distillery buildings were sold to Scottish Canals in 2002. The maltings were demolished and most of the original distilling equipment was stolen in 2008.

After the first release ‘True Love’ there is now a second release called Innocence, now available from The Whisky Exchange. Again it is 21 years old, apparently all bottlings in this series have been bottled some time ago and are resting in glass until they are released. Collectors please form an orderly queue.

Macallan Edition No.4

Macallan Edition No.4

Another limited edition from The Macallan. This time the Master Distiller selected casks to reflect a modern flavour profile while staying true to the Macallan sherry-seasoned oak casks maturation.

Not sure what to make of that, but it seems there was no co-creator like in Edition No.2 and Edition No.3. Bottled at 48,4% and available from July 2018.

Glenglassaugh 40 Years

Glenglassaugh 40 Year Old

There has been a 40 year-old expression from Glenglassaugh in 2013 but now it seems a new one is coming. It is bottled at 42,5% ABV, in the same style of bottle as before.

Also interesting…

Things that may not have been widely announced but that I saw popping up in shops recently:

  • Bunnahabhain Toiteach A Dhà, a peaty expression with a sweet Oloroso sherry influence, bottled at 46,3% ABV.
  • Glenmorangie Spios arrived in stores
